Sisira Ediriweera is a Professor in Forestry and Environmental Sciences at the Uva Wellassa University, Sri Lanka and the Principal Investigator of Sinharaja Forest Dynamic Plot. His broad research interest lies in better understanding regeneration establishment among assemblages of closely-related trees species. Sisira is especially interested in role of disturbance in structuring tropical forest communities. Further, Sisira studies the long term effects of canopy dieback on seedling recruitments and changes in vegetation structure and composition in montane forest Sri Lanka.
Sisira received his PhD in Biophysical Remote Sensing from the Southern Cross University, Australia and his MPhil in Forest Ecology from University of Sri Jayewardenepura, Sri Lanka.
