Bio

Daniel´s research aims to understand how global changes impact forest dynamics and functioning. His current research focuses on understanding the mechanisms driving tropical forest biomass losses to improve predictions of forest response to environmental changes. Daniel has previously coordinated the ForestGEO annual mortality and damage surveys, a pantropical program that aims to collect tree-level data related to potential mechanisms of mortality and forest biomass loss. He received his PhD in Ecology from Universidad Nacional de Colombia (Medellín) in 2019.

Daniel is currently based at Department of Biological & Environmental Sciences at the University of Gothenburg, Sweden, and you can find his bio here.
