Bio
Dr. Tucker Furniss is an Assistant Professor at the University of Wyoming. Dr. Furniss’s research focuses on the structure, function, and disturbance ecology of temperate forest landscapes of western North America. He uses a combination of field-based longitudinal datasets, remote sensing, and process-based simulation models to understand how climate, land use, and disturbance processes are shaping landscapes. His research addresses both basic and applied questions in forest, fire, and landscape ecology, and aims to inform science-based adaptive management and policy on public lands. Dr. Furniss completed his PhD at Utah State University in 2021, and was a postdoctoral fellow with the Pacific Northwest Research Station from 2020-2023.
