Changbaishan

A 25ha Broadleaved-Korean pine mixed forest plot was established in Changbai Mountain in 2004. The plot is not only the first temperate forest dynamics plot in China but also worldwide, with the geographical coordinate 42.38°N, 128.08°E.
Haliburton Forest

The Haliburton Forest Dynamics Plot is located in the Haliburton Forest and Wildlife Reserve, ca. 300km north of Toronto, in central Ontario. The region is characterized by rolling hills interspersed with many lakes.
Ichauway

The Ichauway Forest Dynamics Plot was established between March 2022 and February 2023 at the Jones Center at Ichauway in Newton, GA. The 15.21 ha plot (390 × 390 m) is a second-growth mixed pine-oak longleaf pine woodland.
Indian Cave

The Indian Cave plot is one of two plots in Nebraska, USA, that sample the semi-arid, boundary forests of grassland regions that in the USA occur at the prairie-forest ecotone.
Lilly Dickey Woods

The Indiana University Forest Dynamics Plot is located at the IU's Lilly Dickey Woods in Nashville, Indiana. It lies at the northern edge of the unglaciated portion of Indiana and near the center of the Eastern Broadleaf Forest Province.
Michigan Big Woods

The Michigan Big Woods plot, located in University of Michigan's E.S. George Reserve, was established by U-M Profs John Vandermeer and Ivette Perfecto, in 2003, as a 12 ha plot and expanded to 23 ha in 2008, and included stems ≥10 cm in circumference (~ 3.2 cm dbh).

Ordway Swisher

The Ordway Swisher Forest Dynamics Plot was established between March of 2019 and February of 2020 near Melrose Florida in the Ordway Swisher Biological Station (3800+ ha) that is operated by the University of Florida. The plot is 23.04 ha (480 by 480 m) of longleaf pine forest/savanna.
Starvation Creek

The Starvation Creek forest dynamics plot is the first Australian plot in the ForestGEO network. The plot was established in low-elevation, mixed-species eucalypt forest approximately 90 km east of Melbourne.
Trelease Woods

Trelease Woods is a 24-ha fragment of old-growth forest 3 miles north-east of the University of Illinois campus. Historically, it was part of the ‘Big Grove’, an ~2,500 ha patch of eastern deciduous forest that existed east and north of Urbana prior to European settlement.

The UNDERC (University of Notre Dame Environmental Research Center) Forest Dynamics Plot is located at the University of Notre Dame Environmental Research Center near the town of Land O’ Lakes, Wisconsin.
Wabikon

The Wabikon Forest Dynamics Plot is located in the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest’s Lakewood-Laona District in northeastern Wisconsin, approximately 10 km east of Crandon.
Yosemite

The Yosemite Forest Dynamics Plot (YFDP) is located near Crane Flat in Yosemite National Park. The plot lies in the white fir superassociation, with the principal tree species being Abies concolor, Pinus lambertiana, Calocedrus decurrens, and Quercus kelloggii.
