Camille Piponiot

Postdoctoral Fellow

Bio

Camille completed her PhD in December 2018 at the University of French Guiana. The subject of her thesis was modelling the impact of selective logging at the Amazon biome scale, and the post-logging recovery of key ecosystem services (carbon sequestration, timber volume, biodiversity). Camille conducted her PhD work within the Tropical managed Forest Observatory that includes 15 experimentally logged sites in Amazonia. Camille's work as a ForestGEO fellow will  include analyzing the ForestGEO plot censuses to study global forest carbon dynamics and how they vary in time, space, and other factors such as tree size distributions, forest disturbances, etc.
